V okrajové zóně raně středověké centrální aglomerace Mikulčice-Valy byla na písečné duně odkryta v letech 2010–2015 část velkomoravského sídliště a pohřebiště. Publikace předkládá výsledky terénního výzkumu na poloze Trapíkov a jejich interpretaci, jež umožnila prohloubit poznání socio-ekonomických vztahů společnosti 9.–10. století. Na základě výsledků interdisciplinárního výzkumu (archeologie, archeobotaniky, archeozoologie, geoarcheologie, radiokarbonového datování, izotopových analýz a antropologie) prezentují autoři archeologický model vztahů velkomoravských center s jejich hospodářským zázemím a diskutují základní parametry rurální ekonomiky a organizační a funkční principy Velké Moravy
